Taking a Divot

A tendency by many beginners and by many experienced golfers is a desire to hit up at the ball to make the ball go up. It is amazing; with all that is written about the game of golf and all of the instruction available that the basic concept of hitting a ball on the downswing is not conveyed.

We all watch the pros hitting irons and taking divots. Are they trying to take the divots or not? They are. Realize these are the best golfers in the world. If they can't do what they want, we don't have much of a chance. Since they are consistently taking divots, we probably should be too.

Does the divot occur before the ball is hit or after the ball is hit? If the club hits the ground before it hits the ball, club head speed is greatly diminished. As a ball sits on the ground, there is no room to hit up at it. To hit up at the ball, the ground will have to be hit first. We want to hit the ball on the downswing because we have more club head speed on the downswing than on the upswing.

We all marvel at the Pros' shots that hit the greens with a lot of back spin. A downward motion at contact is needed to put the proper spin on the ball. If the golf swing is traveling up when it gets to the ball, the ball will have less than the desired amount of back spin. Additionally, back spin is needed to keep the ball airborne. If a field goal kicker kicks a ball with top spin, the ball may not clear the linemen's heads. The same principle holds true for a golf ball. A ball hit with top spin will not stay in the air for very long, it will not go very high and it will also roll for quite some distance. When hitting a ball into a green, we usually want it to go high and not roll very far. To create the proper back spin, the ball has to be hit with a descending blow. The divot should occur after striking the ball.

To work on hitting the ball with a descending blow, lay a tee down about 2" in front of the ball (target side). Your goal is to hit the ball then the tee. If you take a swing and hit the ball but the tee does not move, you probably did not hit the ball on the way down in the swing.

Golf Tip:

We often hear the term "releasing the club". It might better be described as hinging, unhinging and re-hinging. We hinge on the backswing and unhinge on the downswing. The confusion comes as to the proper time to re-hinge. If the re-hinging starts at the contact of the ball or before contact, body rotation will be impeded and manipulation of the club will occur. The re-hinging of the club does not take place until the shoulders are squared up to the target. When the release is done properly, it may feel as though you hang onto the swing longer and definitely your balance will improve.

Best Score Ever - Golf Putting Instruction is the Key!

If you are looking for the best way to lower your score in golf, putting instruction is the answer. It is made more clear when you realize that putting is what makes up at least 45% of your average score. That is more than any other shot. This leaves the most room for improvement. You can spend hours at the driving range hitting ball after ball, only to save yourself maybe 2 or three strokes in your next round. Hey, that is not a bad thing. I wouldn't suggest you stop practicing your driving. What I would suggest is spending more time practicing your putting. If you have good golf putting instruction, you can lower your score much more than 2 strokes. If you can perfect your putting, your score will drop dramatically. This is achieved with a lot less work than you may think. I know you want to get better at golf. Putting instruction is the fastest way. Check the tips below to be on your way to your lowest score ever!

I keep mentioning golf putting instruction. What i mean by this is simply some direction to get you on the right path toward putting success. The first thing you should do is make sure you have the basics down. You want to keep your eyes directly above the ball. You want your wrists, arms, and shoulders to move as one unit. The putter should move in one straight line from back swing to follow through.

The next thing you want to do is practice. Golf putting instruction can't work unless you practice. Unfortunately most of us don't spend enough time practicing putting. If you can simply practice your putting as much as your driving, you will already be well on your way to a much lower score.

Now that you have the basics down, and you're practicing, you should develop a pre-putt routine. The mental game is the most important part of golf. Putting instruction would not be complete without the development of your mental game. The pre-putt routine is what will get you into the proper state of mind leading up to a putt. You should include reading the green, and picturing the putt in your mind. These are both crucial parts of any pre-putt routine. Confidence is key, so use a routine that works for you.

How to Make Extra Money on the Side For Newbies

You've been flooded with email offers, seen all the hype and now somebody is telling you how to make extra money on the side on the internet for $2. Just another scam right? Not really. If you are absolutely new to internet marketing but are unsure how to start then you need to learn this two buck program.

Do any of these sound familiar?

- You feel overwhelmed by all the information about starting an internet business.
- You're not sure what to learn first.
- You visit an internet marketing forum and you don't understand half of what is said.
- You wonder if it's all hype and if anyone actually is making money.
- You don't have, or you don't want to spend a lot of money on training and products.
- You want to do something you just don't know where to start.

If you answered yes to even one of these you have to check this system out.

Now this next part is going to sound like the typical scam pitch but please trust me, it isn't.

Did you know you could start an internet business without a website? Did you know you don't have to have your own product to sell? Did you know you don't have to sell anything to make money? Did you know the work you do today could continue to pay you for years? Whew! That even sounds scammy to me. But guess what, it's all true.

The big picture is called affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is simply you sending visitors to a company's website and getting paid a commission if they purchase something on that website. Pretty simple concept right? But it begs a couple of questions. Where can you find a company to work with and how do you send them traffic.

Finding a product is simple. Almost every online retailer has an affiliate program including big names like Amazon, Wal-Mart and Macy's. The most common place for a beginner to look is at an affiliate network like ClickBank or Commission Junction. These networks have literally thousands of affiliate products in almost any category you can think of.

When you first start, pick a product or category that you know something about or that interests you. This is not always the best product to make money, but in this early stage you want to be working on something you enjoy while you are developing your skills. If you're a big golfer maybe you promote a golf training product. If you're into scrapbooks, find a product that covers that. Just find something that you enjoy.

When you sign up as an affiliate for a product you'll be given a unique link to identify the visitors that you send. If they buy, this link tells the company who to pay.

Ok how do you send traffic? The answer is article marketing. Article marketing is simply writing about a subject and providing useful valuable information about that subject. For example, if you are a golfer maybe you do an article on five tips to improve putting. You are not pitching your product, you are providing valuable content for a reader.

When you have this article written, you want to post it on one or more article directories. Signing up is a snap and usually instantaneous. These directories provide free content to other websites and have literally millions of articles. All of these articles are indexed by the search engines, including the one yours is on.

At he bottom of the article is a resource box. This is a small area where you can pitch your product and include a link to it. Now the link that you got from the affiliate network probably won't be allowed by the better article directories. To get around that, you can do a redirect of a top level domain and have that domain URL pointed at your affiliate link.

Huh?

It's easier than it sounds. Go to GoDaddy or anybody else who registers domains and buy a dot info domain. Try to get one that has a name close to your subject material. Then follow the simple instructions to tell GoDaddy to redirect, or call forward if you will, any visitor who arrives to the affiliate URL. Presto you're done. No need to build a site, you are just sending traffic directly to the company's sales page. Oh, and a .info domain costs about $2.00.

So now in your resource box you put your new .info URL and anyone who clicks on that will be redirected to your affiliate link. Pretty cool.

The trick here is to write a ton of informative articles. The more you have out there the better the chance of getting traffic to your affiliate site. It's a simple system that will continue to perform as long as it is indexed by the search engines and it only cost you $2.00. How great is that? This is how you can make extra money on the site even if you are just a newbie.

Golf Instructions From Inexpensive Sources

That golf is costly a sport and pastime is a given. What aficionados of the game can do something about is how to get golf instruction or lessons from inexpensive sources that may at least minimize the costs of getting far too involved in it. If you are one of legions of golf enthusiasts, you may try getting lessons from easily accessible sources of information instead of paying for the services of professional golf instructors. Try some of the means of getting golf instruction from sources that are easily within your command.

Even as a beginner you can easily befriend golfers who are playing with you on the same course. Try asking from them some useful tips. Although it may not be realistic to expect a full-blown golf lesson sessions from them, as a new-found acquaintance they are likely to share some of their insights which you can then apply to improve your own game. Some of them may even go out of their way to show you how it is done in actual play. Others may offer contact information of golf instructors who can help you less cost. And just in case you find it a little embarrassing to solicit some advice from fellow golfers, you may just continue with your round. Your golfing buddies will see how you play and may just think you are a beginner. Soon you may notice that people who feel experts on some or all elements of golf coming up at you to share some of their best-kept secrets.

Membership in a golf club is another way of getting golf instruction from relatively less costly sources. Membership in a golf club entails dues or fees, but it will also give you access to certain perks or services. These perks may include discounts on registration fees for golf lessons which the club may organize from time to time. You can also inquire about related events or activities at public golf courses. There are times when these golf courses organize golf sessions at very low cost for the golfing community at large.

Do not forget, moreover, how you got hooked into the game. It is very likely that somebody--a friend, partner, family member, or co-worker--introduced you to it. It is also likely that he or she already has accumulated more knowledge of the game than yourself. Thus it should not be difficult for you to try getting golf instruction from whoever he or she might be.

Another excellent but inexpensive way of getting golf instruction is through the internet. Related information that you can access through websites are fairly comprehensive and you are free to just pick those instructions which you feel would be helpful to you.

Body Friendly Golf Review

After reviewing your Body Friendly Golf book & the accompanying DVD, I have to say that if this gets widespread reader- & viewer-ship, my massage therapist business could be in trouble! For many years I have been performing massage on golfers (& others) who flock to our desert resort area, plus residents who live here & play on a regular basis. Along with computers, I would rank the sport of golf as one of the many reasons we massage therapists will never run out of clients. I consider golf to be a "body UN-friendly" activity, due to the number of clients I have encountered who have injured themselves or just tied their body up in knots while playing. If they were to read your book & watch the DVD, they could learn how to customize a set of exercises & warm-up drills that would not only improve their game, but make them more flexible & fit, overall. Even for myself, given the stresses of my work, I could quickly see how valuable the range of exercises are for me...a non-golfer...so I have no hesitation in saying this book is a "must read" for golfers or anyone interested in improving overall body fitness & flexibility. The excellent DVD menu makes it so easy to select a set of exercises to do, with references to book pages & instructions; one could choose a different set each session & find themself in better shape in no time! So disregard the title of my review, it might not hurt at all & you just might find yourself "swinging a new tune" on the course...better yet, treat yourself to a personal consultation & fitness program & surprise your friends at the next tournament. And don't forget to schedule a massage session with your therapist soon!

A must-read for any Golfer! - Mary A. Francis - Palm Springs, CA
If this book gets the reader-ship it deserves, my livelihood could be in danger! I am a massage therapist in a desert resort area with over 100 courses and, in my many years of practice, I often come across clients who, at one time or another, suffered an injury from playing golf; indeed, I consider golf a most "body UN-friendly sport" and, along with computers, to be among the many reasons people have massages. This book contains so much useful & concise information relating to prevention & rehabilitation of injuries and, coupled with the extensive, informative & easy-to-use DVD that accompanies the book, anyone with the right mindset can quickly & easily learn how to improve their game & avoid injury. In fact, even non-golfers can benefit from the easy-to-understand exercies which are grouped into highly viewable segments on the DVD & augmented by information contained in the book. In short, get the book, read it & watch the DVD. Better yet, have a personal consultation with Dr. Dill & get a customized program to make your game more "body friendly"; just don't forget to book a massage with your favorite therapist.

Jack Nicklaus, My Story Review

Jack Nicklaus' career is one of the greatest in all sports. Especially famous are his 18 major victories (20 if you count the US Amateur), and this book is a story about those victories, and his life in between. His book is divided into 20 chapters - one for each of those major victories, and in them he discusses the events which transpired before that particular tournament, and the tournament itself. What a natural yet perfect structure for a book like this!

The best aspect of the book, I felt, was the immediacy with which Nicklaus writes. When you read this book you almost feel as if Nicklaus is talking to you, just yourself, at points.

Each chapter talks about a particular tournament and what happened before it. Particularly amazing is the clarity with which Nicklaus can recall those tournaments he describes. He describes individual key holes, what was going through his mind, and the general up and downs which accompany a round of golf. After reading this book, we know Nicklaus is a champion: he can win not only when he's up, but also when he's (to some extent) down. Also, as an interesting side note, Nicklaus also gives a few golfing tips - perhaps no one can become as great as him, but it never hurts to try!

And the last aspect of the book I found enjoyable were the photographs. True, they were black and white, but show how he changed over time, and chronicle some of the most memorable moments of his major career wins.

You come away more convinced than ever of Nicklaus' greatness. A great book to read anywhere, anytime.

Jack Nicklaus, My Story Overview

In a long awaited autobiography, the "Golden Bear" chronicles his life in golf, discussing his youth, rise to the top of the golfing world, record-breaking career, relationships with other golfers, family and the issues of the game.

Jack Nicklaus, My Story Specifications

As "The Golfer of the Century," Jack Nicklaus is a recognized authority on the game's history and direction, and in his 13th book, My Story, he shares the details of his most impressive victories. With 20 major championships under his belt, he has plenty of highlights to share, including shot-by-shot analyses of his classic battles with fellow legends Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, and Tom Watson. Indeed, Nicklaus seems to recall every shot of his illustrious career, and he is able to infuse his discussions of final round action with suspense, even though we've known the outcomes all these years. To this erudite study of golf the Golden Bear adds personal elements that reveal the man behind the one-iron. Nicklaus describes his business dealings--both successes and failures--his love of golf course design, the effects of celebrity status, and his childhood. Written with his longtime collaborator Ken Bowden, My Story is another eagle for the man whose name fills the record books.

Great material - let down by poor writing - revbd - Ireland
This book provides Nicklaus's views on his championship golf contests and focuses on relevant aspects of Nicklaus's mental approach. Since Nicklaus is the greatest of golf champions (for the time being), and it is his thinking that's credited by his peers and himself for much of his success, his exposition is interesting both in itself and as something for golfers to learn from. So far so good. Unfortunately Nicklaus's book is badly let down by the ghostwriter, Ken Bowden, who is, frankly, a poor writer. There's little variation of tone or pace or, even, vocabulary. Accounts of Nicklaus's many incredibly exciting championship battles (e.g. vs. Hogan and Palmer at the US Open; vs. Miller and Weiskopf at the Masters; vs. Watson in the British Open; vs Ballesteros at the Masters) fail to capture the excitement of those great contests. A comparison of this book with Nicklaus's earlier autobiography with Herbert Warren Wind illustrate what a wonderful writer Wind was and what a positive contribution a really good writer can make.

GOOD SOLID WORK - ENJOYABLE AND INFORMATIVE - D. Blankenship - The Ozarks
Certainly one of the leading sports figures of our times and beyond a doubt one of the best golfers of all times, this autobiography of Jack Nicklaus is both interesting and informative. Nicklaus, like Palmer, Jones, Player, et al, are a passing breed. Not only are they great atheletes, but they are gentlemen in every sense of the word. Mr. Nicklaus' approach to the game and to life reflects this at every turn. This is a work that can be enjoyed by both golfers and non-golfers equally. I have probably ran into better writers that Ken Bowden, but hey, he did an adequate job and certainly got Jack's story across. Enjoyed this one a lot and very much recommend it.

Very good book, hits all the highlights of his great career. - -
In fact, I have only very minor complaints about the book. One is that his "contributor", Bowden, uses some phrases ad nauseam. I don't know how many times we read that Jack finished the third round 3 shots "adrift" of the leader. Not trailing by three, or behind by three, but "adrift" by three. Using that term for variety is okay, but it's used to death. I think he's a golfer, not a sailor.

Again, though, that's a minor distraction that doesn't take away from the enjoyment of reading about the greatest.

Learn to Access Google - With Only Your Mind

As we continue with our 12-part series reviewing Jeffery Combs' "From Procrastinator to Producer", we now enter a more scientific study of procrastination. Understand that Jeffery Combs has coached, mentored and/or trained over 4000 people. What we are covering in this article has merit and warrants your close attention.

When we are ready to release ourselves from the bondage of procrastination, we must understand that it is not a matter of "trying to get over it" or "trying to get rid of it". We can try all we want, but until we commit to DOING it, we won't have much success. Jeffery Combs explains that it is a matter of accessing our reticular activating system.

So, if you are like me, you are reading this and thinking..."what is a reticular activating system?" This is the part of the brain that acts as a filter between your subconscious and conscious mind. It transfers "instructions" given to it by your conscious mind to your subconscious. Jeffery Combs describes this as a "Google search engine in your [subconscious]."

Imagine you are at a very busy and noisy airport. In this airport you hear many sounds. You hear hundreds of people talking, gate announcements, planes landing and taking off, airport golf carts beeping along the terminal, etc. Are you aware of any one of these noises? Or do you usually hear a hodge podge of all the sounds? Your attention is not called to any of these sounds because they are not important to you. However, if you hear your name or your gate number called...or your flight number is called; you perk up right away. Why? Because your conscious mind has told your subconscious mind to listen for this information. There are two important points to make here about the RAS.

First, your RAS can actually be PROGRAMMED by choosing the messages you send via your conscious mind. Some examples include setting goals, affirmations or visualizations. Napoleon Hill said that if we keep on thinking of it, we can achieve any realistic goal; provided we stop thinking any negative thoughts about that goal. Practically speaking, if we keep thinking we can't achieve a goal...our subconscious will help us to...not achieve that goal.

Second, your RAS makes no distinction between "real" events or "fake" events. You see, it will believe anything you tell it. This is where visualization can really be powerful. Let's say you have to give a presentation in front of all of your co-workers and bosses. If you "pretend" to give this presentation perfectly in your mind, you will improve your ability to give a perfect presentation.

We need to be aware of our speech at all times. We need (no, we require) to train our subconscious to catch us when we use the wrong language. We must get into the habit of using superlatives. Superlatives include words and/or phrases such as "absolutely", phenomenal", "unbelievable", "awesome", "right on", etc. Once we have trained our subconscious of this speech, we then get better at catching ourselves when we are not using it. This is accessing your internal Google search engine. Once you have PROGRAMMED your RAS with the goals and speech you want to access, you can begin to truly transform from "Procrastinator to Producer".

Nintendo Wii Golf, Play the Game, Or Learn to Play Real Golf This Week End All Free

Nintendo Wii GOLF game:

I was impressed with the Wii interactive golf game, had great fun playing Wii pro-golf What was surprising most of the family including adults did not understand any of the golf terms or how to play golf? This was a dis-advantage even with a computer game They could only play at beginners level, those keen to learn the terms and rules, so could play the pro-game. So the intent of this article is to teach the basis of golf. Every one knows in football what a goal is, in golf they may not know what a Birdie is?

Basic information All Free WOULD YOU LIKE TO SAVE TEN SHOT ON YOUR NEXT ROUND

Very basic information: for the true beginner. This is only intended for those new to golf and just starting. We all had to learn, just a brief in-sight to the game of golf. Please remember that golf is a game our trust and honor, it is quite easy to cheat; NEVER cheat play by the rules, if you are known to cheat you will lose the respect of your fellow golfers. Most aspects of the game are covered in the many pages of instruction on our web page, however if you do need advice or help with your game or selection of equipment please e-mail us please unique service - it is all FREE including a FREE PDF copy of the Hand Book of Golf 100 pages of golf instruction and illustrations' learn to play real golf this week end. The published copy has sold over 5000 copies, is yours FREE contact us.

Golf Course

Golf an outdoor game; the course is about 7000 yards divided into sections called holes.
Individual holes may vary in length from 100 to 550 yards; each hole begins at the tee and ends at the hole, to complete the hole the golf ball must be propelled into the hole. The object of the game is to advance the ball around the course using as few strokes as possible.

From the tee each player tries to drive the ball onto the fairway, a carefully tended strip of land, the fairway is short grass, on either side there will be rough areas of long grass, bushes, or trees. Also hazards natural and man made, including sand-filled bunkers, water hazards lakes, and ponds. At the far end of the Fairway is the putting green, the grass short and smooth, not necessarily flat most greens have contours, down hill - up hill slopes to the hole, the short grass is smooth like a snooker table and will permit the ball to roll easily after it has been given a gentle stroke know as a putt.

Golf: Main shots

Drive: which hopefully is a long shot from the tee? The approach shot is played from the fair way towards the green - a number of different clubs can be used Long Irons - Fairway woods. Your selection will depend on the distance to the green and other key factors, such as the wind where your ball has landed. (In the rough, on the fairway, or even in a fairway bunker)

Once within 100yds of the green it becomes a chip shot - normally played with a pitching wedge.

Normal set of 14 golf clubs are divided into those known as woods, with large heads now made of metal and those know as irons with heads made of steel or titanium. The shafts can be made of steel or graphite.

Woods are numbered 1 to 5, the irons in the bag normally numbered 3 to 9 which include your pitching wedge -sand wedge - putter. One of the strange things in golf the lower the number on the club the more distance it is design to hit. E.G. your 3 Iron should go 200 yards; your 9 Iron will only go 110 yards. One golden rule we teach is trust your club just maintain your normal smooth swing do not change your swing just change the club.

Forms of Competition

NOTE GOLF is the only game I know when the players ALL start with the same chance of winning, for example if your handicap is 20 and the person you are playing has a handicap of 10 then they would need to beat you by 11 stokes to win.

Match play: This is played hole by hole, the player taking the least number of stokes between tee and hole wins the hole. The one who wins the most holes wins *once handicaps have been taken into account.

Stroke play you need to play consistent golf over the 18 holes hole the winner is the player taking the fewest stokes over the full 18 holes.
Again once handicaps have been taken into account.
The term par refers to the number of strokes the pro-golf would use in completing a particular hole.

Par ranges from three to five stokes. If you made par on every hole your total score would be 72 for 18 holes -which is why the course is referred to as a par 72.
General Course information:

On short holes 100-200 yd they are called par three holes, it is possible to make a hole in one, with a perfect shot and more than a fair share of luck.
Long par five holes vary in distance between 450 and 550 yards all with varying degrees of difficulty, which on your score card we be shown as Index a hole which index 1 is considered to be the most difficult hole to play, the higher the number the easier the hole.

Tee
Is the area from which you play the first shot on every hole? A-tee is also the small peg, which you place in the ground on the Tee area place the ball on top so you get a clean contact with the ball when you drive the ball towards the fairway.

Par
The number of golf strokes a pro-player would expect to take on each hole (or better).

Bogey
One stoke over par. So if the hole is on the card as a par 4 and you take 5 strokes from tee to in the hole that is refer to as a bogey hole.

Birdie
Is one stroke under par so again if the hole on the card is shown as a par 4 and you only take 3 strokes from tee to in the hole you have play well and it is referred to as a birdie.

Eagle
Two strokes under par. Now that is very rare and when you start score eagles then you for sure will not need this book any more.

One last comment
I wish you luck and enjoyment in every game you play. Save your self a great deal of time a frustration: Learn the basic mechanics of the game, check your set up in the mirror. Then you are ready to practice. Not just driving every aspect of the game your set-up pre-shot routine, most of all your short game.

Golf Swing Biomechanics - The Science Behind a Good Golf Swing

Golf is a game that requires a great deal of skill, determination, concentration and desire to win - but is there anything else that can have an impact on your game? Many people do not ever consider the golf swing biomechanics that can have an effect on their game, but should they?

Golf swing biomechanics sounds like something from a science lesson but there are some very important lessons that can be learnt from considering them when you next play golf. These are things like - levers - this is the theory that a golf swing can be improved by thinking of the arms as one lever that can be moved and the wrists as another level that can act like a hinge and transfer more power to the club.

Centrifugal force should also be considered as when a golfer pivots round to take a golf swing centrifugal force is working to keep that swing in control. Power is also important as a golfer needs to have strong muscles in their legs and trunk in order to be able to create enough controlled power to hit the ball and make it go further.

Impact (or the point when the club strikes the ball) is also very important to a good golf swing even though they are only in actual contact with each other for less than a millisecond. During this time the club should strike the ball so that the ball is in the centre of the club face, doing this means that the impact felt on the ball is the maximum which means the ball should travel the maximum distance.

These are just a few of the golf swing biomechanics that you can think about but as you can see they do have an important role to play when considering how to perform a perfect golf swing.

The Art and Science of Putting Review

This book takes a little bit different approach to putting instruction by using a series of "machines" to describe how to putt. After a while you realize that you are that machine and that if you substitute "person" for "machine", you have some great advice for putting. My occupation as a patent attorney may have made me appreciate the quirky golf inventions more than most. However, that feature is just another little thing that sets this book apart from more serious instructional texts. I believe this book to be just as important to me as the other "must read" I have on my shelf: Mr. Hogan's Modern Fundamentals. Buy this book. You will enjoy it.

I didn't enjoy this technical manual - at all :( - vickylee@skyinet.net - Philippines
The graphics were terrible... in golf books, I think it's important to see actual "forms", actual "grips", etc. Here, I found machines, robot-look-alikes & engineering drawings. Uhmm.. this book is no fun, it shows you how golf can be very boring.

It really helped my game. I saved 8 strokes putting! - -
The book is great. It has helped my putting just a ton! This book was the best purchase I've ever made I love it!

A different kind of perspective on putting - challman@netmcr.com - Greensboro, NC
This book describes the principles of putting using descriptions of "machines" that are built for putting. After a while you realize that the machines are really your arms, shoulders, etc. The book is sprinkled with interesting quotes about putting and the game of golf in general. The author has also included many short descriptions of may patented golf gimmicks from long ago. This book would make a good addtion to the golfer's library. I highly recommend it.

How to Break 90: An Easy Approach for Breaking Golf's Toughest Scoring Barrier Review

I started golfing regularly (about 3 times a month) last summer, practice at least once a week at the range, took a few lessons and finally broke 100. At that point I purchased "How to Break 90".

This book does an excellent job at teaching course management to avoid the dreaded blow up holes which ruin our scores. You will learn how to break down each hole to avoid hazards and to play within your ability. Instead of blasting a long iron or fairway wood on your second shot to the green of a typical par 4 hole, the author advises you to layup with a shot within your means to achieve your "personal par". There will be situations in which you can take chances and "go for the green", but in most cases, the risk doesn't pay off for golfers of our ability.

This book, together with practice will help you lower your scores. In fact I broke 90 (84) for the first time last month. I still hit plenty of bad shots but instead of trying to pull off a heroic shot to save par, the book has taught me to take my medicine and I usually do no worse than a double bogie.

Besides the outstanding course management help, "How to Break 90" also teaches you a variety golf shots in easy to understand language with a sense of humor. Highly recommended to all weekend golfers who want to improve.

How to Break 90: An Easy Approach for Breaking Golf's Toughest Scoring Barrier Overview

In How to Break 90, two PGA teaching pros offer a sensible approach to shooting sub-90 scores by eliminating the most dreaded numbers on a scorecard--double, triple, and quadruple bogeys. They focus on simple strategies, such as playing toward a personal par of "level fives" and how to finish the job on the green.

Great book. Even for those that haven't broken 100. - E. Pena - Springfield, Mo
Even though I haven't broken 100, this book has given me the areas to focus on to break both barriers (100 & 90). Wish this was on Audible, so that I could hear it over and over. Great Job.

What the???!!! - Cali - Dallas, Texas
I can't believe that I am writing a good review for Mr. Tomasi. I loved this book. It is better than a lot of his other books. I recommend this book even if you want to break 100. It tells you what you have to do to get there. I liked how Mike Adams writes. it is simple and makes you want to go on the course to try out what you read. Get this book. I can't believe this is the same TJ Tomasi. If you want to break 100 or 90 then get this book. it will help you.

This golf book really works! - Gary E. Corcoran - Sydney, Australia
The first golf book that I have really understood when reading it. It breaks down many of the mysteries of golf in easily read, easily understood English. The touch of humor, here and there, also adds to the enjoyment of reading this book. In the space of 90 days from first read, I was able to reduce my handicap by 6 shots, win 3 competitions at my club and begin to really enjoy the game. It does work and I have recommended it to many of my golfing friends.

Not impressed - -
I was dissappointed in the book, I already know some basic Yoga and was looking for something geared specifically towards the golfer. Instead the book took regular yoga poses, which you learn in any basic yoga class, and applied them to golf.
Now there is nothing inherently wrong with that - its just that I expected something really focused on golfers - maybe my expectations were too high?
I would recommend this book to people who have no concept of Yoga and need some flexibility and general physical conditioning improvement.
However if you are an active person and have the possibility of attending Yoga classes then do that instead. You will learn everything this book has in the first class ...

Must Have! - -
If you're a golfer, you got to have this!

I've used the techniques described in the book and
it works! I'm golfing better than I have in 20 years!

Highly recommended!

Two Thumbs Up! - Kathleen - MI, USA

Accommodation in Lahore, Pakistan

Lahore, Pakistan is one of the Pakistani cities with the greatest evolution and progress, as well one of the fastest developing areas in Pakistan these last 30 years, doubling the population as well as the number of tourists and visitors every year. Lahore is a very popular touristic destination, and a place with a quite large selection in accommodation.

The choice of accommodation when it comes to hotels is quite large in Lahore. Its specialty though are the numerous resorts, spread along the city and its parks and mostly close to the Lake City, which is by far the most popular resort of the area, and one of the most visited in the entire Pakistan. In this area you can find numerous bed and breakfast hotels with all modern amenities, including spa and fitness facilities, needed to the visitor to unwind from the adventure in the Punjab province and the shopping districts of the city.

The Hotels in the area are among the most impressive hotels in the entire country, built either in Pakistani or European style, boasting exquisitely ornamented rooms. On the other hand, there are different options as well for those who wish to spend their time close to the city and its more developed districts. For those who seek some luxurious accommodation close to the city, there are wonderful choices, at the foothills of the Garden of Mughals, offering a wonderful view to the city and its parks and mountains.

Pakistan and Lahore is a gathering spot for avid cricket players, who can choose among the unlimited selection of accommodation in the area, as well as for the golf players who love the Defense Raya Golf Resort and its accommodation, featuring guestrooms, scattered throughout the resort, offering either mountain or golf course view.

In Lahore Pakistan there are many historic hotels to stay, for those who want to be in a big city but taste a little bit of the rich Pakistani history. Most of them offer a wide range of activities in the city and the suburbs, as well as the parks and recreational areas of the city, so guests can enjoy golf courses, play in the tennis complexes, try the hiking trails, choose one of the numerous children's programs, or just relax in the spa and fitness facilities. The Lahore area is actually considered to boast the highest amount of resorts in the continental part of the country and the Pakistani district of Punjab.

If looking though for something of older oriental and Punjab experiences then you can find some of the range - hotels, all along the outskirts of Lahore Pakistan, many of them located though close to the big areas of Baghbanpura and Batapur. Most of them are really traditional, meaning that guests need to work a little, and have to deprive themselves from modern facilities such as TV or internet connection, but they can experience an array of activities such as horseback riding, dancing, roping course and instruction as well as hayrides.

The Putting Prescription: The Doctor's Proven Method for a Better Stroke Review

I like it a lot. He's well known for his work on vision and putting. In addition to the vision aspect, the book is a complete treatment of the subject of putting.

He likes an arc stroke but does give tips that work with Pelz-style SBST. Compared to Utley or O'Brien, he goes into a lot more detail and practical advice on how to do things and how to fix things. And unlike Pelz, the detail is not so much theory and science. It is more like, if you have trouble with X, do A or B or C or D or a combo of them.

I have learned a couple of very important, useful things from it.

It's not the fanciest book, but it is very good.

The Putt Doctor's Proven Method for a Better Stroke

Dr. Craig L. Farnsworth

Author of See It & Sink It

The doctor is on the golf course!

Dr. Craig Farnsworth has helped more than 125 Tour pros improve their putting games from good to outstanding. Whether you suffer from sloppy setup, tight grip, pushing, pulling, or "the yips," The Putting Prescription will cure what ails you!

"I have worked with Craig over the years and have used and applied his prescriptions and drills myself. I particularly love the string and needles drill. All you need to do is add a bit of practice."

-Nick Faldo, six-time Majors winner on the PGA Tour, member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, and analyst for CBS and the Golf Channel

However, I enthusiastically refer my players to Dr. Farnsworth."

-Dr. Gary Brown, Golf Performance Specialist, Intelligent Golf

"I have utilized Doctor Farnsworth's information in my instructional programs since meeting Doc in 1998. His knowledge has transformed my teaching and my own game, allowing me to be the Michigan PGA Teacher and Player of the Year in 2005. Following the Doc's prescriptions will help transform everyone's putting!"

Do You Believe That Golf Instruction Can Make You a Better Player? Yes and Here's How!

Over the past two years or so, I have spent tons of time and effort trying to learn how to show golfers, through the power of the pen, how to get in touch with their golf swings. How golf instruction should lead them to a conclusion that you can develop a useful, repeatable, and affective golf swing using the golf tips and online golf instruction, here on the EzineArticles site and in other areas of the internet.

It's a great resource. Golf instruction is not an easy task. It is especially not easy while using just words. Not one word of golf instruction should be left up to the imagination. So that makes it tough to get across intricate points of golf instruction.

The grip, for example. It is one of the easiest aspects of the golf swing to get exactly right. There is absolutely not a single motion associated with getting a good grip. But, yet it is very difficult to describe the correct grip using just words. I see so many bad grips out on the range and on the courses, its incredible. And, yet, these people have an expectation of playing decent golf with these poor grips.

Not happening.

And that is where the challenge comes in.

I have been lucky so far.

I get emails from around the world from golfers who have got some real use out of some of the golf swing instruction that I have been able to provide.

Keep them coming folks.

It is through much of this response that I get ideas as to what parts of the golf swing are the most bothersome, I learn from you all, what it is that is most often spoken about in the golf instruction that actually helps you with your golf swings.

The one thing that people keep telling me is that my articles that deal with angles are the most instructive. They have apparently made a difference in lot's of golf swing out there. To me, that is great news. It means that some of this stuff is actually getting applied. It's so different not ever seeing a result, like I would on a driving range. Golf instruction is best suited for a visual feedback and not a verbal one. Overcoming that objective has been the challenge.

So... let me take a minute to talk about the angles that you must have to create power and accuracy in your golf swing. And we'll add a little drill to help cement the concept for you.

First a thought for you to always remember. Angles are power...power is distance... no angles ..no power... no power no distance. And in golf instruction, angles are created, they don't happen automatically. So while while it might be nice to have a golf tip that included a statement that you must have certain angles to create power, you must know HOW TO CREATE THEM. And even more important is that you must know how to KEEP THE ANGLES.

A while ago, I wrote what I thought was a great article on " LAG" what it is and how to create it.

Lag is nothing more than a great angle. Created on the backswing and maintained or increased on the downswing.

Watch Sergio Garcia and you will see tremendous " LAG" created on his downswing.

How does he do that?

Here is how: your right wrist must be pushed bent back toward your right forearm. It is often referred to as the Trayed Position. As if you were holding a tray of dirty dishes on your way back to the kitchen. Like a waiter.

The Trayed Position

Try it. Bend your right arm so that it is at 90 degrees. Now just bend you right hand straight back toward your right forearm.

Look at that position. See that it is supporting a golf club with the hand "under" not on the side of the club while at the top of the swing.

Believe it or not... this is the glue that holds a good golf swing together. This one angle creates other angles that are essential to a repeatable golf swing. Golf instruction rarely pays much attention to this or to the other created angles. I do and it is because we all should try to do as much right as possible in every swing that we take. This trayed position is the one thing that all good players have in common. Great players do several other things as well... but let's just face it , we are not destined to become great players. But listen to this... there is no reason why you all cannot be very good players.

I must tell you that it will be impossible to get into this all important trayed position if you have a crappy grip.. so fix the grip.

The idea of an early bend in the right wrist is an excellent concept and I endorse it fully. It is a move that you can make and then forget about it. Then you are sure that you have created the one angle that is vital to your repeating swing.

So during the first stage of your move away, push against your left thumb with the pad of your right hand. Just a gentle but firm push will start the bending of the right wrist. Then turn to the finish of your backswing with this angle in tact.

Now the hard part... you must maintain this angle for as long as you possible can. The evidence of this being done is at the impact position. And here is the evidence that convinces you that you have created and kept this angle.

"Your hands beat the clubhead to the ball" that's right. Your hands are ahead of the clubhead at impact.

Do this and you will soon be a "player"

Start this with the minnie swing drill.

Set up with a short iron, create the right wrist angle early and turn into a small backswing. And now just turn back to the ball making sure your hands are ahead of the ball at impact.

A small move nothing big. But do it until you can feel the correct move to the ball with the angle in tact.

This is a powerful move and creates a very straight and accurate trajectory. Pro like, is the best description.
