Golf Instruction Online - Pitching

How infuriating is it when you've got the ball within 100 yards of the green, you take out a wedge, take aim, make a swing and either chunk it and the ball goes 20 yards or so. Or you thin it and when you look up you see the ball running across the ground like a scolded dog. Golf instruction Online can help.

I'm sure you've heard before that if you want the ball to go up, then you need to hit down. The reason you've heard that so often is because it is true, plain and simple.

Problem is most people, even armed with this knowledge will insist on trying to help the ball into the air. Resulting in all sorts of nightmarish scenarios.

So lets put this problem right once and for all, you'll need to practice a little but the end result will be well worth the effort.

Most of this problem comes from a poor initial setup position.

Firstly lets get the ball in the middle of the stance or for a higher softer shot about an inch or two forward of middle.

Second, put 60/70% of your weight on the front foot.

Thirdly, push the hands forward slightly.

Last, we don't want the hips and legs swaying about underneath us, save that for the dance floor.

So there you have it. Ball centre to forward in the stance too far back you'll be asking for the fat or thin shot. Weight mainly on the front foot to encourage the downward attack. Hands slightly forward will also assist this. Keep the lambarda out of it. If you don't you'll tend to slide onto the back foot and stay there, causing you to handsy and flick at the ball.

Hope this helps, keep an eye on my articles for more golf instruction online.

Where Do You Turn For Golf Swing Help?

The old joke about how "good help is hard to find" is rarely more accurate than when a golfer is looking for truly valuable golf swing help! Sure, cheap commentary can be found from almost anyone on the course; especially undesired input from the loudest mouth in your foursome. Truly valuable golf swing help requires several things to make it into input that will actually have a long-lasting and positive impact on your performance on the links.

Why Golf Swing Help Is Multi-Faceted

It would be hard to find a golfer who doesn't believe that a good golf game requires both physical and mental abilities. However, coming to an actual understanding of what that means can be confusing, at best! The incomparable Chi Chi Rodriguez, the first World Golf Hall of Famer to hail from Puerto Rico, was noted for saying "I've heard people say putting is 50 percent technique and 50 percent mental. I really believe it is 50 percent technique and 90 percent positive thinking, see, but that adds up to 140 percent... which is why nobody is 100 percent sure how to putt." Tongue in cheek or not, Rodriguez was certainly on to something!

In order for golf swing help to be effective, whether it is tailored to driving, putting, or pitching, there must be physical and mental elements to the training. The ideal situation involves learning and physically improving your swing to the point where it feels natural and can be accessed without difficulty... and the best swing help gets a golfer to that point smoothly! After all, as the great Bobby Jones pointed out, "You swing your best when you have the fewest things to think about!"

Do Not Be Too Proud To Ask For Help!

Many golfers are unwilling to accept any level of training or instruction because they view it as a weakness of some sort. This is, of course, preposterous. The best pros in the world still hire instructors to assist them in maintaining and improving their swings - but ego can be an interesting thing that stands between a golfer and his or her best possible game. Don't let that golfer be you!

Do Not Be Too Polite To Meddlers!

Once you find the best golf swing help that works for you, there can be little doubt that you will receive unsolicited tidbits of assistance from what can only be termed "The Peanut Gallery." Certainly, much of it is well-intentioned, while at the same time a good portion is likely to be people speaking to hear themselves talk... the point here is that you are under no obligation to receive "help" from another golfer! If it is your boss at least pretend... and even then, perhaps only if you are bucking for a raise or a promotion. Firmly, but kindly, develop a way to rebuff such advances.
