Best Golf Courses in San Diego

It is widely known that some of the best golfing in the country can be found in beautiful California. The county of San Diego boasts over a dozen different courses with a wide variety of landscapes and levels of difficulty. Golfing is a great outing for couples, families, and corporate gatherings. The following are some of the best and most interesting courses throughout San Diego.

Torrey Pines Golf Course: This is one of the most famous golf courses in all of California, and is located in beautiful La Jolla. It is a well known PGA Tour location, as well as home to the famous Buick Invitational every February. To the north are gorgeous mountains, and to the west is the beautiful Pacific Ocean.

Coronado Municipal Golf Course: Opened back in 1957, this public golf course boasts an 18-hole, 72-par course, near many Coronado Island hotels. It is located on Glorietta and San Diego Bay on Coronado Island. You can experience a great view of the bridge to Coronado, as well as the San Diego Bay while playing on the immaculately manicured greens. They also have a large putting green, full-length driving range, a chipping and practice bunker and five different instructors.

Riverwalk Golf Course: This course was designed by the famous Ted Robinson, and is located in Mission Valley, just north of Fashion Valley mall. Riverwalk hosted the PGA tour many times during the 50's and 60's. The San Diego River is an integral part of the course's design, and the beautiful sweeping greens have water in some areas. With 27 holes and a great venue for special events, this area is perfect for corporate or family tournaments. They even boast American Golf and PGA/LPGA instruction.

Presidio Hills Golf Course: Established in 1932 in what is now historic Old Town San Diego, this challenging short-course golf course has 18 unique holes. Tee times are not required, and they are proud to have one of the best junior golf instruction programs in the area.

Twin Oaks: Located in San Marcos, this Ted Robinson designed course is challenging for golfers of all abilities. With 18 holes, water on many of them, and elevation changes, this course is fun for everyone. Not to mention its proximity to a beautiful wildlife habitat.
